For over sixty years, Brownsville Energy Authority has served the people of Brownsville and parts of Haywood County with electricity, water, wastewater, natural gas and propane. Our employees are constantly undergoing training and attending classes and seminars to keep current with ever increasing certification and license requirements and technological advances. We are proud to say that our rates are among the lowest in the state. Electric
We are proud of the
fact that our rates are among the lowest in the state. Brownsville Energy Authority
purchases its electricity from the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Water
Our water meets all of
EPA s health standards. We have conducted numerous tests for over 80 contaminants that may be in drinking
water. We found all of these contaminants at safe levels.View Water

Natural Gas
Our natural gas is
purchased from the Tennergy Corporation and transported over Texas Gas Pipeline.
Pilot Light Policy
Effective November 1, 2022 BEA will provide lighting of pilot for free for the first request during business hours, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. If the customer is not at home or has a second request to have pilot lit or if the customer requests to have pilot lit outside of regular business hours, a fee of $20 will be charged to customer.
